I’m sorry, but weddings are just PRETTY! Laura and Dylan’s day was no exception, and I don’t think I’ll ever be mad at photographing an indoor ceremony at Birchwood Vineyards with the huge fireplace. It’s just gorgeous! And I get to use my lighting skills to make that fire sparkle. I’ve actually been talking about this a lot with couples. I really like to capture a wedding the way it feels. In a dark wood wedding venue, it’s my job to make the light look warm and rich as if it’s easy and effortless, but it’s not an easy trick; it’s all about anticipating what’s next, being ready and matching the ambient light to set the mood, and making it look like it’s “natural.” There were many special and emotional moments during Laura and Dylan’s wedding, and one of my favorites was their unconventional first look. They blended hands around the corner and a first look, which I loved because there was a brief pause before they both got to see each other simultaneously. I hope you enjoy these photos, and as you peruse through the day, please note that this day wasn’t just about ME doing my job, it was a whole team of vendors and wonderful bride and groom, family, and wedding party who all brought their A-game to make this day so seamless. I’ll be sure to tag them all, but I’d like to shout an extra shout-out to Russ as an RSVP video he was, as always, an absolute gem to work with but literally brought the smoke for the night shots and ended this wedding with some fun one of kind magic photos. Thanks, friend!!
