Not just a typical blog post here, but also, a shoutout to all of the seniors out there who are currently finishing school from home for the remainder of the year, due to COVID-19. This is an incredibly tough time for everyone, but especially for these seniors.

Senior year is a big stepping stone for a lot of kids. It’s a time of transition from teenager to adulthood, and stepping out of the comfort of Mom and Dad’s roof, and stepping out into the real world. It’s also the end of their high school journey, and a time for them to enjoy and savor the memories that they will make during this last year, and enjoy the time with their friends, as people tend to scatter and grow apart after high school.

Unfortunately, a lot of the big senior moments, like senior prom, and graduation, are going to be very different from the norm this year. One of the things that has always made these events so great is the whole class being able to gather and celebrate together. Although it’s truly unfortunate that that wont be able to happen this year, it is nice to see that schools, and the state as a whole, is working hard to find the best alternatives they can. Often times we curse and repel technology when we have a problem with it, or can’t understand it. But now is truly a time for everyone, parents, teachers, and students, to be very thankful, that technology will be the one thing that makes it possible for all of these seniors to finish out their year successfully, even given the situation.

We know that this time is truly difficult, but we are rooting for all seniors out there!

The connection that Millyard studios shares with seniors is that, senior year is a part of their story, and a part of their families story. And you know us! We are here to photograph and help tell your story. 2020 seniors have likely already had their senior portraits done. But as we slowly start approaching the summer, its never to early for upcoming seniors to get their portraits done! We want to remind everyone of the importance of senior portraits. Even though they might not seem like a big deal at the time, they are a great way to be able to look back to that time of life.
